In 2019, we pulled off the ultimate surprise for our family and friends by turning what everyone thought was an engagement party into our wedding. It was spontaneous, full of joy, and totally unexpected considering Courtney is an Event Planner!</p><p>From early on, we both knew we wanted to become parents. Family has always been at the heart of our lives, and we’ve spent years imagining what it would be like to raise a child surrounded by the same love and support we grew up with. Our journey to parenthood hasn’t been easy, but the dream of holding our baby one day and sharing our lives with them continues to keep us moving forward. In the meantime, we pour so much of our love into our nieces and nephews, who we absolutely adore and love to spoil every chance we get.</p><p>Courtney works as an Event Coordinator, planning large-scale nonprofit events and festivals. She’s the planner and creative heart of our home — the one who keeps everything (and everyone) organized while finding joy in the chaos. Known affectionately to our nieces and nephews as “Auntie Cookie,” she has always had a special connection with children. She volunteers weekly at a Montessori preschool and previously spent several years teaching at a military base in Spain, experiences that have deepened her love for nurturing and connecting with others, especially children.</p><p>Chris works in technology and has an easygoing personality that makes people feel comfortable right away. He’s vibrant, has a great sense of humor, and is the kind of person who can make anyone laugh. He grew up helping in his family’s floral shops, where he learned the value of hard work and giving back to others. He carries that same energy into all parts of his life, from volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and supporting a local nonprofit for adults with disabilities to being the friend everyone can rely on for a laugh or a helping hand.</p> </div> </div>

<p> </p><p><strong>OUR INTERESTS</strong></p><p>We’re definitely not the “sit still” type – we love staying busy and making the most of every day. Whether we’re spending weekends at Lake Tahoe, starting a new home project, or planning our next trip somewhere new, we’re usually on the move. Traveling is one of our favorite things to do, especially when it involves good food (which, let’s be honest, is most of the time). When we actually get some down time, you’ll usually find us binge-watching Love Is Blind or Below Deck. We also love concerts, theater, and pretty much any live event that gets us out experiencing something new. Courtney attended a performing arts academy, so the arts have always been an important part of our lives. We especially love seeing concerts and make a point to catch some of the classic artists we grew up listening to. Chris has a passion for golf and all kinds of sports, while Courtney values quiet moments for reading and recharging.</p><p>We’re close with our families and spend a lot of time celebrating, catching up, and just enjoying life together. Our dog, Maverick, is a big part of our daily lives and goes with us wherever we can take him. He is affectionate, playful, and completely ball obsessed. He is going to be a great big brother! We also have a close-knit group of friends who bring a lot of joy and connection to our lives, and we love spendingti me with our friends as much as possible. At home, we love taking on DIY projects. Courtney comes up with the ideas, and Chris figures out how to bring them to life. Our home is warm, welcoming, and full of love, and we look forward to sharing that love and creating a nurturing environment for a child.</p> </div>

<h2>WHAT LED US TO SURROGACY</h2><p>Our journey to becoming parents has been long and challenging. For nearly eight years, we have tried everything to conceive, working with four different IVF clinics and numerous specialists along the way. We have completed over ten full rounds of IVF and endured four heartbreaking losses, but we have never given up because we know it will all be worth it to meet our child.</p><p>After one of these losses, Courtney was diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome, a rare blood clotting disorder that creates risks for both mother and baby. Following another loss, she was also diagnosed with irreparable Asherman’s Syndrome (despite undergoing three surgeries to remove scar tissue) and endometriosis. Doctors and specialists have advised us to use a surrogate, as it is the safest path for both Courtney and our child. Deciding to pursue surrogacy is a deeply personal and thoughtful choice for us. It comes from a place of love and the genuine desire to create the safest and healthiest start for our child.</p> </div>

<h2>OUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR OUR FUTURE CHILD</h2><p>Our greatest hope is that our child grows upfeeling deeply loved, safe, and free to beexactly who they are. We want to nurturetheir curiosity, encourage them to explorethe world,and help them discover whatmakes them light up inside. More thananything, we want them to always feelsecure in knowing they are supported andloved unconditionally. We hope to fill theirlife with laughter, adventure, and meaningfulconnections; from playing outside and traveling to simply enjoying time with familyand friends. We want to model kindness,gratitude, and empathy, and to teachthem that life’s best moments oftencome from small acts of love and joy. Wetruly cannot put into words how excited weboth are to meet our child, hold them, andsnuggle them close. Every milestone andbirthday will be a big celebration in ourhome!</p> </div>
