I quite literally <strong>fell for my husband,</strong> when I tripped over him that night. What could have been a clumsy moment turned into the <strong>spark</strong> that started everything. From that night on, we’ve been inseparable. Just before our wedding, I returned to school and began a new career path. <strong>Life moved quickly in the best way </strong>between the excitement of marriage, getting our fur baby, Oaki, and building our future. After a beautiful few years of marriage, we began trying to grow our family, but soon learned I had a fibroid that was preventing pregnancy.</p> </div> </div>

He’s <strong>passionate</strong> about carpentry, loves learning about space, and fast cars. Every Sunday morning, <strong>he joins his mom for church</strong>. I have an artsy side and <strong>discovered a love for cookie decorating</strong> during the early days of COVID. What started as a creative outlet to pass the time turned into something I never knew I had a <strong>gift</strong> for. I recently picked up a love for running, reading, and taking part in local charity 5k’s. Family is everything to us, we spend weekends surrounded by loved ones, enjoying good food, laughter and <strong>creating lasting memories.</strong></p> </div> </div>

After it was removed, I later discovered that one tube <strong>remained blocked</strong>. From there, I went through multiple procedures, hysteroscopies, saline sonograms, HsG, and multiple rounds of medication to help grow my uterine lining. Even at the highest dose, my body didn’t respond. It has been an emotional journey, but one that’s led us here, with open hearts and <strong>hope for building our family through surrogacy.</strong></p> </div> </div>

We’re<strong> lucky </strong>to have my husband’s parents living with us, his mom is truly the best. We couldn’t ask for a more caring and supportive set of parents. The rest of our family lives just 10mins away, so we’re always together, <strong>sharing meals,</strong> helping each other, or playing board games (which can get a little competitive, but always end in laughter.) We value open communication and always show up for one another.<strong> Our home is full of warmth and genuine connection.</strong></p><p>One of the most important things we hope to pass on is a <strong>strong work ethic.</strong> We both believe in staying motivated, setting goals, and giving your best in everything you do. <strong>Kindness, respect and caring for others</strong> are core values in our family, and we want our child to grow up with compassion and <strong>always doing the right thing, even when it’s hard</strong>.</p> </div> </div>

<h3 class="elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default">The Biggest Ask SaysThe American Society for Reproductive Medicine provides the following recommendations for evaluation of gestational carriers (i.e., many fertility clinics will require the following for their gestational carriers):
- Carried at least 1 child without complications
- Fewer than 3 deliveries via c-section
- Be within the ages of 21 and 45
- Body mass index in between 19 and 32
- No smoking, abusing drugs, alcohol or prescription medications
- Not receiving welfare, public housing or cash assistance from the government
- Has a stable home life with emotional and child care support
- No mental health conditions requiring the use of medications within the last 6 months (including depression)
- No criminal record

No one likes to talk about surrogate compensation, but it is an important factor in any surrogacy agreement. The following is how we classify high, medium and low compensation (excluding the value of any benefits). Many factors affect surrogate compensation including surrogate experience (e.g., has the woman been a surrogate before?), whether the surrogate is signed up with an agency and surrogate preferences.
- Low = surrogate compensation between $45,000 and $50,000
- Medium = surrogate compensation between $55,000 and $60,000
- High = surrogate compensation greater than $65,000
