We met while exploring the world, and that sense of wonder and connection has defined our marriage ever since. Today, our lives are filled with laughter, the warmth of a shared home, and a deep, enduring love that has only grown stronger with time.</p><h2>WHO WE ARE</h2><p>We have built a life rooted in stability, passion, and a shared love for the simple things. Our home is a lively place, shared with our two feline “supervisors”: a dapper Tuxedo cat and a spirited Calico. Christy is a dedicated podiatrist. Her days are spent helping others stay on their feet, a career that reflects her nurturing nature and her commitment to caregiving. James is a software professional who thrives on problem-solving and innovation. He’s the steady hand and the quick wit in our partnership. When we aren’t working, you’ll likely find us outdoors or in the kitchen. We have a deep love for gardening, finding peace in watching things grow and tend to our backyard sanctuary. That same patience carries over to our cooking; we love experimenting with new recipes inspired by our travels or recreating the meals we first shared in Europe. Family is our North Star, and our weekends are often spent surrounded by relatives, sharing stories and building memories that we are eager to pass down to a child of our own.</p> </div> </div>

<h2>OUR INTERESTS</h2><p>We’re a pretty even split between being homebodies and travelers. Most weekends you’ll find us in the kitchen trying a new recipe, out in the garden, or tackling a DIY project. We just like the feeling of making things better and working with our hands. That said, we love to get away, too. We travel both around the U.S. and internationally as much as we can because we really enjoy exploring new places and just having new experiences outside of our daily routine.</p><h2>WHAT LED US TO SURROGACY</h2><p>Our road to parenthood has been one of profound hope and quiet resilience. Just as the world began to change in early 2020, we took a monumental step and transferred an embryo. We were filled with anticipation, but as the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down, we faced the heartbreak of a loss. Then, things got even more complicated when Christy was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia (a pre-cancerous condition) and had to have a hysterectomy. While that chapter was difficult, it didn’t dim our desire to be parents; it only clarified how much we have to give. We have spent the intervening years strengthening our bond and preparing our home—and our hearts—for the family we know is meant to be.</p><h2>OUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR OUR FUTURE CHILD</h2><p>Our dream is to raise a child who loves nature, animals, never stops being curious, and has a sense of family and wanderlust. Our child would be the 2nd grandchild in the family, so we have a village that is waiting to love and support them.</p> </div>

<h2>FAMILY TRADITIONS AND VALUES</h2><p>We both have deep roots that we’re really excited to share. For James, that means keeping his Irish heritage and his dad’s legacy as a chef alive, he still cooks from his dad’s old Escoffier cookbooks, and he can’t wait to pass those down. Christy’s family has been in Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 400 years, so she has a lot of pride in the culture and history here that she wants to impart.</p><p>Beyond our backgrounds, we’re big on scientific curiosity. We want our child to be a critical thinker who asks a lot of questions about how the world works. Above all, we just want to raise them with strong family values and a real joie de vivre, genuine love for life and all the fun it has to offer.</p> </div>
