<p>We met in 2009 at the <strong>University of South Florida in Tampa</strong>. My roommate was in the same research group that M was in working towards his PhD. She introduced us at a football game, and <strong>we hit it off immediately</strong>. I was terrified about how much I liked him instantly and did what any normal 22-year-old would do,<strong> I ran and ghosted him for months. </strong>Being the persistent person he is, he bought a small Chinese fan for my birthday when he went to a conference in San Francisco. This small gesture had a <strong>huge impact</strong> and let me know that he was still thinking about me. I had to stop running. Our first date was in St. Petersburg, where we watched the sunset and then ate at a jazz bar. The rest was history. <strong>We have technically been married three times!</strong> Our first official wedding was at a courthouse, followed by a 500 guest wedding in M’s hometown in China and then finally a wedding in Maryland with my little family. <strong>We’ve always known that we wanted to be parents.</strong> We have so much love to share with a little one and would make fabulous parents. <strong>From M’s perspective:</strong> I was instantly attracted to her contagious giggling. I feel very pleasant and happy with her – even to this day.</p> </div>

<h2>OUR INTERESTS</h2><p>Shortly after we started dating, we went on our first trip together to Savannah, GA. This trip truly strengthened our relationship. We still love to <strong>travel EVERY</strong> chance that we get. Having new experiences really excites us both. We typically travel around the country; we also have traveled to M’s hometown in China. Along with traveling, we love to <strong>eat at local restaurants and try new foods.</strong> We also love <strong>comedies</strong> – the more ridiculous the better! <strong>Our house is full of laughter and (off-key) singing</strong>. M is very athletic and is an<strong> avid runner</strong>. He works in the science field and truly enjoys<strong> reading about new scientific discoveries </strong>in his field. He also enjoys reading about history and psychology. I <strong>LOVE to cook</strong> and try new recipes every chance I get. I enjoy dabbling in <strong>baking and cooking cake or special desserts</strong> for birthdays. I am a bit of a nerd as well and <strong>enjoy reading and gaming (PC).</strong></p> </div>

<h2>WHAT LED US TO SURROGACY</h2><p>I (K) have <strong>many </strong>chronic health conditions. I had my <strong>first kidney transplant when I was 14</strong>, followed by many complications related to that, including <strong>ovarian cancer</strong>. My doctors were always nervous about me getting pregnant due to all my health conditions. <strong>We froze 4 embryos in 2018.</strong> In<strong> 2019, I had my second kidney transplant </strong>and even more complications, which cemented my doctor’s (and our) concerns that it would not be safe for me to carry a child. I ultimately decided to have a <strong>full hysterectomy due to menstrual complications. </strong>During my second transplant and the 3 years worth of complications that came with it, M was by my side the entire way – even taking special care to ensure that my central line (a semi-permanent IV) was flushed and kept clean daily for more than three months. We are a team through and through.</p><h2>OUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR OUR FUTURE CHILD</h2><p>We value education and will do everything to ensure that our child has the <strong>best education </strong>we can provide. We are incredibly adventurous and would love to <strong>see those adventures through our child’s eyes.</strong> We dream of raising a child that is confident and secure in themselves.</p> </div>

<h2>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A MATCH</h2><p>We would love to have a <strong>close relationship</strong> with our surrogate throughout the pregnancy. If it’s possible, we would like to <strong>be present for ultrasound appointments or other major milestone appointments</strong>. After the pregnancy, <strong>we would still like to be in contact</strong> and would love to share updates/pictures of our little one as time goes on.
